album which is called the sea salt ice cream, is very nostalgic, and it's looking a bit back on childhood memories, and I feel like the one we're working at now is More focused on growing up and becoming an adult
signe 2:11
Feel like it' s a combination of Yeah, cute, gay stream pub in the rock Yeah, yeah. I don't think I can,
Frederik Winther Barkholt 2:26
yeah, we are kind of like deliberately, and not deliberately, trying to pull a lot of references in the instrumental from like, 90s and because that's kind of what we grew up
Signe 2:39
my references are more connected to pop, R, B, me, logic wor ld and you're like a little more your reference is a little more shoe gazed.
Frederik Winther Barkholt 4:59
Experimental me, and I feel like we have a nice we found a nice balance between those holes in each other's like tastes, yeah, yeah, and so. And I feel like the goal is to try to keep, keep that balance and like, like experimenting with like, leaning in on one side and leaning in on another side and yeah, yeah, because it's yeah, it's really fun to find out what's what's what works between us.
Signe 6:14
the instrumental part of it was an old song that you have been playing and you made years ago, and you were actually playing with some other guys.
Frederik Winther Barkholt 6:30
Yeah, actually mess and mess, who we just invite, like invited into the band this May we wrote that song four years ago, but didn't where it didn't go anywhere until the scene sat down and, like, delivered the most perfect vocal to that song, where we have experience, for the first time making music together, being like, whoa, we just made something really cool, And since then, we have, like, chased the same feeling in, like gut feeling When you're listening to a song We've made together.
Signe 9:23
it's also a bit about remembering being younger and remembering some situations in like the situation or situations With with boys, where you now think, Okay, well, where was my self respect or what? Why? Why did I go? But the funny part about university halls is that it was a very difficult song for us to write, like you make it instrumental that is like, very experimenting and deals with, yeah. Very a lot of different drum rhythms and and parts, yeah. So it took us some time getting finished with it, but now we actually very happy about it.
Frederik Winther Barkholt 10:11
Yeah, those songs in particular, from Jaylan grow and me, because I feel like in terms of, like, the evolution of our sound, they kind of mark the direction that we wanted to pursue from that album on. And I feel like, feel like sea salt ice cream is kind of like a further exploration of the sound from those songs. And then the next album we're working on is kind of like, how how we Are, like broadening out our approach to that sound good.
Signe 11:15
You have to be open to what's coming from Your body and not only from your head you
Signe 11:43
feels so surreal that you sitting so far away listening to our music. I really am. Yeah, it just feels so nice. Yeah, I'm so grateful for it.
